Southern District Council and Wan Chai District Council approved the implementation of HKICT 南區區議會及灣仔區議會通過設置港島環島徑

Recreation and District Facilities Committee of Southern District Council and Development, Planning & Transport Committee of Wan Chai District Council approved the implementation of HKICT.

In the discussion of Southern District Council, Mr Paul ZIMMERMAN and Mr Pang Cheuk-kei, Michael gained the majority supports from other councillors. Mr YIM Chun-ho and Ms LI Shee-lin agreed the removal of the gate, replacement of proper path, as well as better LCSD management at Waterfall Bay Park, for example, providing information of the risk of tides. Mr WONG Yui-hei, Angus suggested the development of cycling path and extending the path to Ocean Park periphery.　Mr Lo Kin-hei also suggested extending the coastal trail into Ap Lei Chau.  The motion has been passed unanimously with 17 votes. ​In the discussion of Wan Chai District Council, Ms KOO Kwok-wai, Sabina urged the responsible departments remove the corrugated panels on Hung Hing Road. Ms LAW Wai-shan, Susi and Miss YEUNG Suet-ying, Clarisse agreed the proposal and mentioned the need of improving walkability along the harbourside. After the enquiry from Mr Mak King-sing, CEDD promised the removal of corrugated panels on Hung Hing Road by the end of 2020. The motion has been passed unanimously with 8 votes. 

Besides, the Petition is still working in progress. Until now, there are 33 district councillors across Hong Kong Island signing the petition, which urges the government to create a Hong Kong Island Coastal Trail by linking existing promenades and pathways into a coherent route.

南區區議會康體及地區設施委員會及灣仔區議會發展、規劃及交通委員會分別全票通過設置港島環島徑。

在南區區議會的討論中，司馬文議員和彭卓棋議員動議港島環島徑，得到眾多議員支持。其中，嚴駿豪議員和黎熙琳議員支持要求署方拆除瀑布灣公園內前往瀑布的鐡閘，並改善公園內其他設施，例如增設潮汐漲退提示。黃銳熺議員提出發展單車徑，以及研究延伸現有環島徑至海洋公園沿岸。羅健熙議員亦表示希望環島徑可以延伸到鴨脷洲。最終，動議獲17票贊成，全票通過。詳情請參閱https://www.districtcouncils.gov.hk/south/doc/2020_2023/tc/committee_meetings_doc/RDFC/17704/RDFC_2020_19_TC_Reference_Information.pdf

在灣仔區議會的討論中，顧國慧議員要求署方移除鴻興道行人路路段的圍板，並跟進飲水機等設施。羅偉珊議員和楊雪盈議員皆表示支持，並認為要改善海濱的易行度。在麥星星議員的詢問下，土木工程署承諾鴻興道的圍板將於2020年底前移除。最終，動議獲8票贊成，全票通過。

除此之外，四區聯署仍然進行中。截至目前為止，已有33位港島區區議員聯署，要求政府連接現有的海濱長廊和行人道成一條連貫的路線，並建立港島環島徑。
